RONALD M. KEENEY, Principal Architect
Ron Keeney is a 1976 graduate of the University of Virginia School of Architecture. After interning with two local architectural firms, he became licensed as an architect in 1983. He practiced in partnership with two other colleagues until the unexpected death of one partner. He has been the managing and principal architect of Keeney & Co., Architects since 1985. Ron is licensed to practice architecture in Virginia, North Carolina, and Maryland. He is also nationally certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB). He is responsible for approximately five million dollars of building construction annually.
COMMERCIAL ARCHITECTURAL EXPERIENCE
Includes design of retail stores, shopping centers, medical offices, general office buildings and complexes, amusement centers, restaurants, banks, warehouses, auto dealerships, and various auto service facilities. His expertise includes existing condition analysis, building problem and solution determination, extensive local building official interaction, contractor negotiations, specifications, and legal contract preparation.
INSTITUTIONAL DESIGN EXPERIENCE
Includes a variety of medical facilities – doctors’ offices with exam rooms, nurses stations, and x-ray equipment; dialysis units, and hospital departments (Physical Therapy, Breast Health Care suite , MRI suite, Gastroenterology suite.) He has also designed day-care centers, churches, schools, and community / charity facilities and housing for the physically or mentally handicapped.
HOUSING DESIGN EXPERIENCE
Includes custom residences, remodelings and additions, and a wide variety of speculative houses, townhouse complexes, and apartments.
